Suitable for internal company use, courtesy translation for foreign partners, or low-stakes correspondence. Not accepted by any embassy.
Notarised translation
An NSA-licensed lawyer in Thailand certifies that the translator's signature is genuine. Suitable for cross-border use where the receiving party only requires identity verification of the translator (rare). Most embassies require the next level up.
MFA-accredited translation + legalization
The translator must be on the Department of Consular Affairs translator registry. After translation, the document goes through MFA Consular Department which adds its red stamp. This is the standard for visa, immigration, marriage, education, and corporate use in nearly every country EXCEPT Australia/NZ.
NAATI translation
Required by the Australian Department of Home Affairs, Australian universities, Immigration New Zealand. The translator must hold current NAATI certification with the correct language pair. NAATI translations from Bangkok-based providers cost THB 800–2,500 per page.
