Who issues the PCC?
The Criminal Records Division of the Royal Thai Police on Henri Dunant Road, Bangkok. There is no regional office — every applicant must submit fingerprints either in person in Bangkok or via a participating Thai embassy abroad.
Required documents
Passport with valid Thai visa or visa-exempt stamp covering the entire residence period; copies of every Thai visa page; two recent 4×6 passport photos; one set of fingerprints taken at a Royal Thai Police station; THB 100 fee; self-addressed return envelope if applying by post.
Processing time
Standard 15–30 working days. Express service is not officially offered; some embassies overseas charge a courier surcharge to forward results faster. Plan at least six weeks if combining with visa application.
Legalization for overseas use
After receiving the PCC, follow the standard MFA + embassy chain. Some countries (notably Germany and the Schengen Area) require the PCC to be issued within the last three months at the time of visa submission.
Common rejections
Fingerprints taken on the wrong form, missing passport pages, name discrepancy between passport romanisation and Thai records, or PCC older than three months at time of use.
